Brazil's National Land Transport Agency has updated the coefficients used to calculate the minimum rates for paid road-freight operations. ANTT Resolution 6,084/2026 was published and took effect on 17 July 2026; the information remains current as of 14 August 2026.
The review incorporated a cumulative 3.54% change in the IPCA consumer price index between December 2025 and May 2026 and set the reference price for S10 diesel at R$6.97. The general method has not changed: the amount depends on cargo type, vehicle configuration, number of loaded axles and the characteristics of the operation.
The official table distinguishes solid and liquid bulk, general, refrigerated or heated, containerised, neo-bulk, dangerous goods and pressurised bulk cargoes. It also separates full-load operations, contracts covering only the powered vehicle and high-performance combinations.
For example, in a full-load general-cargo operation, the travel coefficient is R$7.3547 per kilometre for six loaded axles and R$9.2027 for nine axles. The relevant loading-and-unloading coefficient is added to these amounts. They are official calculation parameters, not a single tariff for every journey.
Before quoting, the carrier or contracting party should correctly identify the cargo category, count the loaded axles in the combination and define the type of operation. Tolls, waiting time, additional time and any items that may fall outside the calculated floor should also be checked.
The update should be read together with the CIOT requirement. The electronic record identifies the operation and supports verification of the minimum rate where applicable. For international trips into Brazil, the parties should agree before departure who will issue the CIOT, which table applies and how additional charges will be documented.
Stylo Camión recommends using the official annex to Resolution 6,084/2026 and not relying on undated tables forwarded through messaging apps. Brazil's authority may revise the coefficients again when the conditions established under the national minimum-freight policy are met.
